Parents think about their children’s future and success every moment, right up to their final days. They support them as much as they can. They make countless sacrifices for their children.
Without them, there is nothing.
There is no second opinion
about that.
There never will be.
We worship invisible gods with immense devotion. But let us
not forget the gods we can see right before our eyes — our parents. Let us not
neglect them.
Whatever parents do for their children, children can never
truly repay them in equal measure.
A little love.
A few words.
The reassurance that “We are here for you.”
Unfortunately, in today’s circumstances, things are not
always like that. For various reasons, it has become increasingly rare for
parents and children to live together.
They are somewhere.
We are somewhere else.
No matter how far away we may be, a simple phone call from
time to time can bring immense happiness to parents in their old age. And
whenever possible, if we visit them and spend a few days with them, there can
be no limit to their happiness.
Parents spend their entire lives working and sacrificing for
their children. If children fail to show even this much love and responsibility
towards their parents, then no matter how much progress they make in life, some
unseen problem keeps following them.
If you can believe it, perhaps that is what we call karma.
By the time we understand this, our parents may no longer be
with us. And then, regret serves no purpose.
That regret can haunt us forever:
“Oh, how much I neglected them… I could have done so much
for them, yet I failed to do it.”
That guilt can completely disturb the peace of our minds.
Think of your parents... from as far back as you can
remember.
Give them your love in return. Make arrangements so that
they can live their old age without difficulties.
Unless circumstances leave you with no other choice, never
commit the sin of abandoning your parents in an old-age home.
You may think, “Those homes are expensive. They will have
everything they need. They will be comfortable.”
But that is a mistake.
No comfort can truly make them happy if they cannot be close
to their children.
And if your parents have already passed away, remember them
on their birthdays or death anniversaries. Revisit their memories.
If, knowingly or unknowingly, you ever neglected them or
made a mistake toward them, sincerely ask them for forgiveness.
The guilt within you will begin to disappear.
Wherever parents may be, they always wish for their
children’s happiness. They constantly yearn for their children’s well-being.
Whenever you undertake something with a good intention, they
bless you, hoping that you will succeed.
With the strength of their blessings, you will be able to
accomplish the things you set out to do. Achieving both small and big goals
will gradually become a habit.
And you will be happy.
This is not some routine moral lecture or sermon.
This is New Age Science that you must believe in.
No matter how materialistic a maverick I may be in my
thinking, I felt it was my responsibility to write this post.
The moment I thought of writing it,
I just kept writing... non-stop.
And as I wrote, I couldn't stop the tears falling from
my eyes.
