I’m Manu… Manohar Chimmani — a Writer, Film Director, Blogger, and Nandi Award-Winning Storyteller with a passion for crafting narratives that captivate and inspire.

As a Life Member of the Telugu Film Directors' Association (TFDA) and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC), I bring a wealth of experience to the world of cinema.

My Journey

From humble beginnings as a Machinist to becoming an Award-Winning Writer and Filmmaker, my path has been driven by relentless curiosity and a deep love for storytelling.

Academically, I’ve excelled — earning two Gold Medals in postgraduate studies (M.A., M.L.I.Sc.) at Osmania University, Hyderabad.

My fascination with languages led me to master Russian, topping my batch in the Advanced Diploma Program. I also completed postgraduate diplomas in Journalism and Advertising & Management.

The Writer in Me

Writing has always been my foundation. Over the years, I’ve penned short stories, articles, features, and serials for leading Telugu publications. My literary contributions include:

✅ Translating Russian short stories into Telugu
✅ Authoring university-listed books, including Adhunika Journalism
✅ Writing the Nandi Award-winning screenwriting guide Cinema Script Rachanashilpam

I was also the first film personality from Warangal to receive the prestigious Nandi Award — a milestone I deeply cherish.

One of my recent works is KCR – The Art of Politics, exploring the leadership of Telangana’s first Chief Minister. The book was launched by KTR, former Minister and BRS Working President.

Cinema & Beyond

Before diving full-time into freelance writing and films, I worked for nearly 18 years in three central government organizations — HMT, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and All India Radio — before choosing a fully creative and spiritual path.

As a Writer-Director, I’ve made four Telugu feature films to date... Kala, Alaa, Welcome, Swimming Pool.

🎬 My latest film, #ErraGulabi / #EG (a road-crime-drama), has completed shooting and is now in post-production.
🎬 I’m currently working on multiple new feature film projects, including a romantic horror flick with the working title #Yo!
