Hi,
I am Manohar Chimmani — writer, filmmaker, blogger, and
Nandi Award winner.
My journey has moved through cinema, literature, creativity, and life itself. While filmmaking remains my primary creative mission today, I find myself increasingly drawn toward silence, spirituality, inner transformation, and conscious living—an evolving journey that will unfold more fully in the years ahead.
I believe creativity is not merely a form of expression. At its deepest level, it becomes a path inward.
MY JOURNEY
From humble beginnings as a machinist to becoming an award-winning writer and filmmaker, my life has been shaped by curiosity, discipline, reinvention, and storytelling.
I hold two Gold Medals in postgraduate studies from Osmania University and pursued advanced studies in Russian, Journalism, and Advertising & Marketing Management.
Over the years, I worked with several central government institutions, including HMT, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and All India Radio, before choosing writing and filmmaking as my life's creative path.
WRITING & CINEMA
Writing has always been my foundation.
I have translated Russian short stories into Telugu, authored university-listed books, and written the Nandi Award-winning screenwriting book Cinema Script Rachanashilpam—one of the earliest serious books on screenwriting in cinema literature in India.
I have also explored leadership, society, and political culture through works such as KCR – The Art of Politics.
As a filmmaker, I have directed Telugu feature films including:

Gulabi
Cinema has taught me the power of emotion, silence, rhythm, and human complexity. It continues to be my primary creative focus.
I am currently developing multiple independent feature films with a clear mission: to prove that intelligently designed, small-budget Telugu cinema can achieve large-scale commercial success.
My immediate goal is to create a ₹100 Crore Independent Blockbuster Hit Film in Telugu through disciplined storytelling, strategic filmmaking, and new talent.

“The Rich Monk” is my long-term creative journey—an evolving exploration of creativity, spirituality, inner transformation, and conscious living.
It will unfold more fully in the years ahead through writing, art, conversations, and thoughtfully curated retreats.
For now, my creative focus remains firmly on cinema and writing.
