I’m Manohar Chimmani—a Writer, Film Director, Blogger and Nandi Award-Winning Storyteller with a passion for crafting
narratives that captivate and inspire.
As a Life Member of the Telugu Film Directors'
Association (TFDA) and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC), I
bring a wealth of experience to the world of cinema.
My Journey
From a humble beginning as a Machinist to becoming an
award-winning Writer and Film Director, my path has been fueled by
relentless curiosity and a deep love for storytelling.
Academically, I excelled—earning two Gold Medals in
Post-Graduate studies at Osmania University, Hyderabad. My fascination
with languages led me to master Russian, where I topped my batch in the Advanced
Diploma program. Additionally, I pursued Journalism and Advertising
& Management through post-graduate diploma courses.
The Writer in Me
Writing has been my foundation. Over the years, I’ve penned short
stories, articles, features, and serials for leading Telugu publications.
My literary contributions include:

stories into Telugu

University-listed books, including Adhunika Journalism (Kakatiya
University, Warangal)

Nandi Award-Winning Screenwriting Book Cinema Script Rachanashilpam
(now a reference book in multiple universities in AP & Telangana)
I was also the first writer from Warangal to receive the
prestigious Nandi Award—a milestone I deeply cherish.
Among my recent works, I authored "KCR - The Art of
Politics," exploring the leadership of KCR, first Chief Minister of
Telangana. The book was launched by KTR, former Minister & BRS
Working President.
Cinema & Beyond
Before stepping into films full-time, I worked in three
Central Government Organizations—HMT, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya,
and All India Radio—for nearly 18 years, before embracing a full-fledged
creative and spiritual journey.
As a Writer-Director, I have directed four Telugu
feature films.
🔴 My latest feature
film, #ErraGulabi (a road-crime-drama), has completed shooting and is now in
post-production.
🔴 Currently, I’m
working on two of my most ambitious projects, both in pre-production.
