Jacob Coxon, a former researcher at Anthropic and OpenAI, recently quit the AI industry with a serious warning.
He says AI companies are racing toward self-improving
superintelligence while humanity still doesn't know how to reliably control
such systems. His message is blunt: don't underestimate the power of this
technology.
Whether we agree with all of his predictions or not, one
thing deserves our attention:
AI is Becoming Extremely Powerful.
And perhaps the biggest question is not only what AI will
become.
It is also what we will become by using it.
AI can save us time.
It can help us brainstorm faster.
It can organize our thoughts.
It can assist us in writing, researching, learning and creating.
Let's use it.
But let's not hand over everything to it.
Don't let AI think every thought for you.
Don't let it write every word for you.
Don't let it make every decision for you.
Don't let it replace your curiosity, imagination, conversations, experiences
and real life.
Use AI as an assistant.
Use it for comfort.
Use it for speed.
Use it for time-saving.
Use it for fast brainstorming.
But don't outsource your life to it.
Because the greatest danger may not be that AI becomes too
intelligent.
It may be that we stop using our own intelligence.
Use AI.
Don't become empty without it.
