Motivation feels amazing. It gives you a rush of energy, makes you believe anything is possible, and inspires you to take action.
But there’s a catch...
motivation is temporary, and chasing it can become an addiction.
motivation is temporary, and chasing it can become an addiction.
You watch an inspiring video, read a powerful quote, or listen to a motivational speaker. For a while, you feel unstoppable. Then the feeling fades, and you start looking for your next dose of inspiration.
Before you know it, you’re addicted to feeling motivated rather than doing the work.
Real growth begins when you stop depending on how you feel and start doing what needs to be done—even when you don’t feel like it.
Use motivation to get started. Build discipline to keep going. Create systems that carry you forward when your enthusiasm disappears.
Don’t become addicted to motivation.
Become addicted to progress.
