But in reality, it’s one of the most strategic plays in
cinema today.
Look closely —
major production houses are consistently investing in small-budget films.
Alongside large-scale spectacles, they are:
• Producing lean indie projects
• Acquiring strong small films
• Releasing them under established banners
Why?
Cash flow.
Risk control.
Continuity.
Big-budget films demand time and lock significant capital.
Small films keep the system moving.
If big cinema is high-risk exposure,
small cinema is structured execution.
When large films fail, losses are massive.
When small films underperform,
OTT and ancillary rights often ensure recovery — sometimes profitability.
The Objective
I am building toward a clear goal:
A ₹100 crore commercial success —
starting with a strategically executed small-budget film.
This is the 100CR Mission.
