That’s considered small in today’s film world.
But here’s the twist — small-budget films are almost risk-proof.
Have you noticed?
Nearly every major production house is now consistently backing small films.
On one side, they’re rolling out massive, high-budget spectacles. On the other, they’re quietly producing lean indie projects — or acquiring strong small films from independent filmmakers and releasing them under their banner.
Why?
Rotation.
Big films take forever — to shoot, to finish, to release.
Cash gets locked in for years.
Small films keep the money moving.
They protect the ecosystem.
If big-budget cinema is gambling,
small-budget cinema is strategic defense.
When a huge film crashes, the losses can run into tens or even hundreds of crores.
But when a small film underperforms, OTT deals and ancillary rights usually ensure minimum recovery — sometimes even profit.
Lower budget. Lower downside. Smarter play.
Right now, I’m moving with one sharp target:
To deliver a ₹100 crore hit —
starting with a small-budget film.
This is my 100CR Mission.
