ఒక ఫిలిం ప్రమోషన్ ఈవెంట్ స్టేజీ మీద హీరోహీరోయిన్స్ ఒక సీనియర్ ఫిలిం జర్నలిస్టు కాళ్ళమీదపడి మొక్కడం ఏదైతే ఉందో... ఇది ఈమధ్య నేను చూసిన మరీ అతి సీన్ అన్నమాట! 

నిజంగా అంత భయమా? 

ఒక ఫిలిం జర్నలిస్టు సినిమాని ఫెయిల్ చెయ్యగలడా? 

కట్ చేస్తే -

నేషనల్ లెవెల్లో అర్నబ్ గోస్వామి "ధురంధర్ సినిమా మీరు చూడొద్దు" అని లబలబ మొత్తుకుంటున్నాడు. 

అర్నబ్ ఎఫెక్టు ఖచ్చితంగా ఈ లోకల్ జర్నలిస్టు కంటే కనీసం ఓ పదిరెట్లు ఎక్కువగానే ఉంటుంది కదా? 

ఏమయింది మరి? 

ధురంధర్ సినిమా ఫెయిల్ అయ్యిందా?

అన్ని రికార్డ్స్ బద్దలు చేస్తూ 1000 కోట్లు కొల్లగొట్టింది. 

మన సినిమాలో మ్యాటర్ ఉండాలి. మంచి ప్రమోషన్ చెయ్యాలి. ఇలాంటి ఉత్తుత్తి చెంచాగిరి పనులు నిజంగా అవసరమా?

అప్పుడప్పుడు అన్నీ పక్కనపెట్టి చిల్ అవుతుండాలి

2026 కోసం కొత్తగా నిర్ణయాలు, కొత్త ప్రామిస్‌లు ప్రత్యేకంగా ఏం లేవు. ఏమన్నా ఉంటే, అన్నీ డిసెంబర్ నుంచే మొదలెట్టాను... 

ఏదైనా సరే, కొంచెం లిమిట్స్‌లో ఉంటేనే మంచిది.

ప్రొఫెషనల్‌గా వందకి వంద శాతం మనసుపెట్టి బాగా కష్టపడాలి. కొత్త తప్పులు చెయ్యొద్దు.   

కట్ చేస్తే -

ఈ న్యూ ఇయర్స్, ఉగాదులు నా చిన్నప్పటి నుంచీ చూస్తున్నాను. వస్తున్నాయి, పోతున్నాయి. గొప్ప మార్పేం ఉండదు. 

ఇదేదో నెగెటివిటీనో, నిరాశావాదమో కాదు.
రియాలిటీ.  

మనం ఏదైనా మార్పు తెచ్చుకోవాలనుకుంటే ఏ న్యూ ఇయర్స్ అక్కర్లేదు అని నా ఉద్దేశ్యం. చిన్నదైనా-పెద్దదైనా, అనుకున్న క్షణం నుంచే ఏదైనా సరే మొదలెట్టవచ్చు.   

కాని, ఇలాంటి సందర్భాలు నిజంగా అవసరం. కనీసం, కొన్ని నిమిషాలైనా ఆలోచిస్తాం... ఏం జరుగుతోంది మన జీవితంలో అని.  

సినిమాను మించిన సినిమా జీవితంలో చాలా జరుగుతుంటుంది. మనం ఎంచుకొన్న పనులు, మనం ఏరి కోరి కొనుక్కొన్న కష్టాలు, తెలియక చేసిన తప్పులు, తల్లకిందులైన అంచనాలు, ఊహించని ఎదురుదెబ్బలు, పెంచుకొన్న మానసిక వత్తిడి... ఇవన్నీ చాలా సర్వసాధారణం. 

ముఖ్యంగా క్రియేటివ్ రంగాల్లో ఉన్నవారికి.  

అయినా సరే, అప్పుడప్పుడూ ఇవ్వన్నీ పక్కనపెట్టి చిల్ అవుతుండాలి. అలా అవ్వకపోతే అసలు బ్రతకలేం.

In filmmaking, everyone talks about budget first. That’s the biggest mistake.

Budget is never the real constraint.
The real constraint is the absence of the right people.

Before casting.
Before money.

Before cameras roll.

Team comes first.

Without the right core team, you can’t even move a blade of grass from one place to another—forget moving a film forward.

Over the years, I’ve worked with many. But I’ve rarely seen the kind of passion, ownership, and intensity that Venu Gopal (Co-Director of my debut film) and Virendrra Lalit (my DOP) brought to the table.

That level of commitment is rare. And it’s priceless.

Everything else—budget, casting, execution—naturally falls into place only after this foundation is set. 

Right now, my focus is simple and non-negotiable.
Build a high-performance core team.

సినిమా. 

ఇంతకుముందు కూడా చాలాసార్లు ఇలా అనుకున్నా కాని, ఇప్పుడు మాత్రం నిజంగా ఫైనల్.

కొన్నాళ్ళపాటు ఇంక నేను సినిమా తప్ప, ఇంక వేరే దేని జోలికీ వెళ్ళను గాక వెళ్ళను.

We’re living in a time where age-gap relationships are no longer shocking — and honestly, they shouldn’t be.

What really matters isn’t the number on your birth certificate. It’s the mindset you carry, the attraction you feel, and the emotional maturity you bring to the table. Without these, even people of the same age fall apart. With these, age quietly steps aside.

I’ve seen enough life — and cinema — to know this truth.

Relationships survive on alignment, not arithmetic. When two people think on the same wavelength, feel alive in each other’s presence, and respect each other’s emotional worlds, age becomes irrelevant background noise.

We grow at different speeds. Some people are old at twenty-five. Some are young at fifty. What connects souls is not age — it’s awareness, curiosity, honesty, and depth.

Like cinema, love is about casting the right energy, not the right number.

ఫిలిం చాంబర్ ఎన్నికల్లో ప్రతి వోటూ విలువైందే !!

ప్రొడ్యూసర్‌గా ఒక సినిమా చేసి, థియేటర్స్‌లో రిలీజ్ చేసినవారికే చాంబర్ ఎన్నికల్లో ఓటు హక్కు ఉంటుందని విన్నాను. 

వెల్ అండ్ గుడ్.  

అయితే, విధిగా ఆ ప్రొడ్యూసర్ తను రిలీజ్ చేసిన సినిమా రిలీజ్‌కు సమబంధించిన లెటర్‌ను ల్యాబ్ నుంచి తెచ్చి చాంబర్లో సబ్మిట్ చెయ్యాలన్న లింక్ ఒకటి ఉందని ఈ మధ్యే మా మేనేజర్ ద్వారా తెలిసింది.   

ఎంత కామెడీ ఇది?

ఫిలిం చాంబర్‌కు తెలియకుండా థియేటర్స్‌లో సినిమాలు రిలీజ్ అవుతున్నాయా? అవుతాయా? 

2007 లో రిలీజ్ అయిన ఒక సినిమాకు సంబంధించిన రిలీజ్ లెటర్‌ను అప్పటి ఏ ల్యాబ్ ఇప్పుడిస్తుంది? అప్పటి ఫిలిం ల్యాబ్స్ ఇప్పటి డిజిటల్ యుగంలో అసలు ఉన్నాయా? మూతబడ్డాయా? మూతబడిపోతే పరిస్థితి ఏంటి?  

తెలుగు ఫిలిం ఇండస్ట్రీలో రిలీజయ్యే ప్రతి సినిమా గురించిన వివరాలు చాంబర్లో రిజిస్టర్ కాకపోతే ఇక ఆ చాంబర్ వ్యవస్థ ఏ స్థాయిలో పనిచేస్తుందో అర్థం చేసుకోవచ్చు. 

ప్రాథమిక స్థాయిలోనే విధిగా రిజిస్టర్ అయితీరాల్సిన ఇంత అతి చిన్న, అతి ముఖ్యమైన సమాచారాన్ని సిస్టమటైజ్ చెయ్యలేని ఫిలిం చాంబర్ నుంచి చిన్న సినిమాల ప్రొడ్యూసర్లు, దర్శకులు పెద్ద ప్రయోజనాలు ఏం ఆశిస్తారు?

జస్ట్ ఈ ఒక్క కారణం వల్ల వోటు లేక, వోటు వేయలేకపోతున్న ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్ కనీసం ఒక వందమంది అయినా ఉంటారన్నది నిజం. ప్యానెల్ ఏదైతేనేం, వంద వోట్లకు ఎంత వాల్యూ ఉంటుంది?

హిపోక్రసీ లేని సహచరి

మన జీవితంలోని మంచి చెడుల గురించి, సుఖ సంతోషాల గురించీ, మనం తీసుకునే నిర్ణయాల గురించీ, వాటి ఫలితాల గురించీ నెమరేసుకొంటూ, ఆత్మ విమర్శ చేసుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఎప్పటికప్పుడు మనకు చాలా ఉంటుంది. 

బ్లాగింగ్ లాంటి "ఫ్లో రైటింగ్" వల్ల శాస్త్రీయంగా నాకు లభించే గొప్ప ఉపయోగం ఇదే.

ఎవరేమనుకుంటారో అన్న మైండ్‌సెట్ లోంచి బయటపడగలిగితే చాలు... బ్లాగింగ్, మనతో మనం మాట్లాడుకోడానికి ఒక మంచి ఔట్‌లెట్‌లా పనిచేస్తుంది. ఎలాంటి హిపోక్రసీ, ఇన్‌హిబిషన్స్ లేకుండా అన్నీ పంచుకోగలిగిన ఒక అత్యంత ఆత్మీయమైన అతిదగ్గరి స్నేహితురాలు అవుతుంది.

I like gardening. It’s a place where I find myself when I need to lose myself.

హోం గార్డినింగ్ చెయ్యటానికి చాలా ఓపిక కావాలి. ఇది కూడా ఒక మంచి క్రియేటివ్ టాలెంటే. 

గార్డెనింగ్ అనేది మనకిష్టమైన రంగులతో సృష్టించుకొనే ఆర్ట్, పెయింటింగ్ లాంటి మరొక కళారూపం. ప్రపంచంలో ఉన్న ఎన్నెన్నో హాబీల్లో స్వచ్ఛతను, సంతోషాన్ని సమపాళ్లలో ఇచ్చే హాబీ ఇదొక్కటే.  

ప్యూర్ ప్లెజర్‌ అన్నమాట.

 

ఇది నేర్చుకొంటే వచ్చే అభిరుచి కాదు. ఎంతో ఆసక్తి, ప్యాషన్ సహజంగా ఉండాలి. ఒకసారి దీనికి ఎడిక్ట్ అయితే చాలు, చివరి క్షణం వరకూ మానుకోలేరు. ప్రపంచంలోని ఏ డ్రగ్ కూడా దీన్ని మించిన 'హై' ఇవ్వలేదు. అయితే - ఇది సిగరెట్స్, మందు, డ్రగ్స్ లాంటి నెగెటివ్ ఎడిక్షన్ కాదు. ఎలాంటి సైడ్ ఎఫెక్ట్స్ లేని ఒక పాజిటివ్ ఎడిక్షన్.  

ఇంకో కోణంలో మనం గుర్తించాల్సిన ముఖ్యమైన విషయం ఏంటంటే - ఈ అభిరుచి ఉన్నవాళ్ళు మానసికంగా చాలా మెచ్యూర్డ్‌గా, కామ్‌గా ఉంటారు. లోపల ఇంకేమైనా అసంతృప్తి, బాధలు, కష్టాలు ఉన్నా సరే... కామ్‌గా, కంటెంటెడ్‌గా సులభంగా ఉండగలుగుతారు.

ఈ హాబీ ఉన్నవాళ్ళలో వయస్సు కూడా అంత త్వరగా దగ్గరికి రాదు. కనీసం ఒక పదేళ్ళు తక్కువగా కనిపిస్తారు. 

ఒక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటే ఇక దాన్నించి వెనక్కివెళ్ళలేరు. అవసరమైతే బండరాయిలా ఉంటారు. అదే వారి శక్తి. 

  

గార్డెనింగ్‌ను "గ్రాండ్ టీచర్" అని కూడా అంటారు. ఎలాంటి క్లాసులు తీసుకోకుండానే ఎన్నో నేర్పిస్తుంది. వాటిల్లో చాలా ముఖ్యమైనది - ఓపిక. ఈ గ్రాండ్ టీచరే నేర్పించే ఇంకెన్నో ముఖ్యమైన విషయాల్లో ఒకటి - నమ్మకం. 

  

హోం గార్డెనింగ్ నాకు చాలా ఇష్టం. హైద్రాబాద్‌లోని బిజీ జీవితం, ఎప్పుడూ వెంటాడే ఏదో ఒక స్ట్రెస్, బిజీ నన్ను దీన్నుంచి చాలా దూరంగా విసిరేశాయి. అయితే, చెప్పుకోడానికి ఇదొక సాకు మాత్రమే. నిజంగా చేయాలనుకొంటే ఏదీ దేనికీ అడ్డు కాదు. 

ఏదేమైనా, ఈ ప్యాషన్ ఉన్నవాళ్ళంటే నాకు చాలా గౌరవం, ఇష్టం. నేను చేయలేకపోతున్నానే అని ఏ మూలో చిన్న అసంతృప్తి. 

   

కట్ చేస్తే - 

నాకున్న లిమిటెడ్ సర్కిల్లో ఇంతమంచి గార్డెనింగ్‌ని, మారిషస్‌లో షూటింగ్ చేస్తున్న సమయంలో అక్కడ ఒక నేటివ్ తెలుగువారింట్లో చూశాను. పాండిచ్చేరిలో ఒక డాక్టర్ ఇంట్లో చూశాను. మణికొండలో ఆ మధ్య ఒక ఆర్టిస్ట్ ఇంట్లో చూశాను.

మైత్రి హోటల్లో చూశాను.
ఓయూ లోని అమెరికన్ స్టడీస్ రిసెర్చ్ సెంటర్ గెస్ట్ హౌజ్, లైబ్రరీ పరిసరాల్లో చూశాను. 

మళ్ళీ దాదాపు అంతే ఫాంటాబ్యులస్ స్థాయిలో ఈ హోమ్ గార్డెనింగ్ ప్యాషన్‌ను ఇంకొక చోట చూశాను. అయితే - ఈ ప్యాషనేట్ గార్డెనర్ నా స్టుడెంట్ కావడం నేను చాలా గర్వంగా, సంతోషంగా ఫీలయ్యే విషయం.

లొకేషన్ స్కౌటింగ్ & బిజినెస్ ట్రిప్

కోపరేటివ్ ఫిలిం మేకింగ్ పద్ధతిలో ఇప్పుడు మేం చేస్తున్న సినిమాల ఫండింగ్, లొకేషన్ల ఫైనలేజేషన్ కోసం తెలంగాణ, ఏపీల్లోని కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్ని సందర్శించాల్సిన తేదీలు దాదాపు ఖరారయ్యాయి. 

టీమ్ డైరెక్టర్‌గా నేను, మా సినిమాల సీఈవో ప్రదీప్, ఇంకో ఇద్దరు మా ఫైనాన్షియల్ అడ్వయిజర్స్ బయల్దేరబోతున్నాం. ఇప్పటికే వెళాల్సింది. చిన్న కారణం వల్ల ఆలస్యమయింది. 

రెండు మూడు రోజుల్లో అంతా సెట్ అవుతుందని అనుకుంటున్నాను.

కట్ చేస్తే - 

చిన్నవో పెద్దవో... ముందు సినిమాలంటూ చేస్తూ ఉండాలి. చేతినిండా పని ఉండాలి. 

ఎవరో రావాలని, ఏదో జరగాలని ఎదురుచూస్తూ ఉండటం వలన మామూలుగా అయ్యే పనులు కూడా కావు. 

ఇది... తెలిసి, మనందరం చేసే తప్పు.

What once took months can now happen in days. What once required a battalion now needs only clarity.

This is not the death of cinema.

Those who have something to say will move faster.

జీవితంలో మనకి మనం చెప్పుకునే 10 పచ్చి అబద్ధాలు

1. నాకింకా సమయముంది.

2. నేను ఈ పని కొంచెం ఫ్రీ అయ్యాక, తర్వాత చేస్తాను.

3. ప్రమోషన్ వచ్చాక నేను రిలాక్స్ అవుతాను. 

4. ఈ న్యూ ఇయర్ నుంచి రోజూ వాకింగ్‌కు వెళ్తాను. 

5. పిల్లలు పెద్దవాళ్ళయ్యాక నేను ట్రావెల్ చేస్తాను. 

6. కొంచెం ఈ టెన్షన్స్ తగ్గాక, నా ప్రియమిత్రుల్ని రెగ్యులర్‌గా కలుస్తాను.  

7. నేను కొంచెం డబ్బు సంపాదించాక, నా కుటుంబంతో ఆనందంగా గడుపుతాను.

Be in the War for the One Thing — Cinema

If you want everything, you’ll get nothing.

If you want one thing badly enough, you can bend a year to your will.

Cinema is not a hobby. It’s a battlefield.

It demands your time, your attention, your ego, your excuses. It doesn’t reward half-belief or weekend passion. It rewards obsession, discipline, and the courage to go all in.

If cinema is your one thing, then stop negotiating with yourself.

Go offensive.

Offense means you don’t wait for permission. You don’t wait for funding to feel confident. You don’t wait for the “right time.” You write before you’re ready. You shoot before you feel safe. You learn while bleeding.

Defense is comfort.
Offense is creation.

Achieving anything meaningful in cinema requires a ruthless clarity. This matters more than distractions, opinions, and temporary pleasures.

Trends will come and go. Noise will rise and fall. But focused work compounds quietly.

Write script after script. Make film after film. Let multiple projects breathe at once — the way the Guinness Record holder Darshakaratna Dasari garu once did, turning discipline into destiny.

Make mistakes fast. Fail forward. Build momentum. Respect the craft, but don’t worship fear.

Cinema doesn’t belong to the most talented — it belongs to the most committed.

సినిమాల్లో అనుకున్నట్టుగా అన్నీ జరగవ్!

సూపర్ స్టార్లు, మెగా స్టార్లు ఉన్న సినిమాలు కూడా ఊహించనివిధంగా వాయిదా పడుతుంటాయి. డబ్బుల్లేక కాదు. భారీ బడ్జెట్లుంటాయి. టాప్ ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్, టాప్ డైరెక్టర్స్ పనిచేస్తుంటారు. అయినా సినిమాలు ప్లాన్ చేసినట్టుగా జరగవు. 

ఎన్ని జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకున్నా కూడా, ఊహించని ఇంకేదో కొత్త సమస్య వస్తుంది. పనులు వాయిదా పడతాయి. సినిమా ఆగిపోతుంది.  

అన్ని సినిమాలకు ఇలా అవుతుందని కాదు. కాని, సినిమా ఇండస్ట్రీలో ఇది చాలా మామూలు విషయం. 

సినిమాలే కాదు, ఇంకెన్నో బిజినెస్‌లలో కూడా ఇలా జరుగుతుంటుంది. ప్రతిచోటా రిస్క్ ఉంటుంది.  

మరోవైపు, ఇండస్ట్రీలో ఎన్నో సినిమాలు అనౌన్స్ చేస్తుంటారు. వాటిల్లో కనీసం 25% సినిమాలు అసలు టేకాఫ్ కావు. వాటి రీజన్స్ వాటికుంటాయి.  

కట్ చేస్తే - 

ఇవన్నీ తెలియని బయటివారు ఏదేదో అనుకుంటుంటారు. అది సహజం. ఎందుకంటే వారికి తెర వెనుక జరిగే విషయాలు తెలీవు కాబట్టి. 

అయితే - ఇప్పుడిప్పుడే ఇండస్ట్రీలోకి రావడానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తూ, ఇండస్ట్రీ గురించి సగం సగం తెలిసినవాళ్ళు కొందరు మాట్లాడే మాటలు, చేసే కామెంట్సే మనకు చిరాకు తెప్పిస్తుంటాయి. బాధ పెడుతుంటాయి. 

ఇలాంటి మన చుట్టూ మనకి వినిపించే పనికిరాని శబ్దాల్ని మనం పట్టించుకుంటే సినిమాల్లోనే కాదు, ఏ విషయంలోనూ మనం ఒక్క అడుగు ముందుకు వెయ్యలేం.

Four Words for 2026

I don’t believe in long resolutions anymore.

I believe in clear words.

For 2026, I’m carrying just four of them:
Films.
Freedom.
Writing.
Spirituality.

Cut to - 

Films—because cinema is not just what I do, it’s how I think, observe, and communicate with the world. It’s the battlefield where discipline, imagination, and execution meet. Beyond passion, cinema is also a space for serious money rotation.

Freedom—because without inner freedom, success is just another cage. I want the freedom to choose my stories, my pace, my people, and my risks.

Writing—because writing keeps me honest. It sharpens my thinking, records my journey, and turns experience into meaning. When I write, I understand myself better. 

Spirituality—because ambition without awareness leads to emptiness. Spirituality keeps me grounded, detached, and aligned while I stay active in the world.

These four words are not goals.
They are directions.

If I stay true to them, outcomes will take care of themselves.

Getting Lost in the Right Direction

There are phases in life where clarity doesn’t come as a map. It comes as movement.

Right now, I’m exploring. I’m experimenting. With cinema. With writing. With creativity. And through all three, with life itself.

To an outsider, it may look like uncertainty. But inside, it feels aligned.

Being “lost” doesn’t always mean being confused. Sometimes it simply means you’ve stopped following borrowed paths and started walking your own. When the direction is right, even wandering has purpose.

Cinema teaches me how to observe life.

Writing teaches me how to understand it.

Creativity teaches me how to stay alive within it.

Not every experiment needs to succeed. Not every attempt needs validation. Exploration itself sharpens instinct. It strips away noise. It brings you closer to what truly matters.

I’ve learned that structure can come later. First, there must be curiosity. First, there must be play. First, there must be the courage to move without guarantees.

It feels good to be lost—

when the direction is honest,

the intent is clear,

and the journey itself is the lesson. 

This is not confusion.

This is conscious exploration.

కొత్త జ్ఞానోదయాలు!

మనం ఏదేదో అనుకొని ప్రోత్సహిస్తూ కొందరికి అవకాశం ఇస్తాం. ఎంకరేజ్ చేస్తూ వాళ్ళ గురించి నలుగురికి నాలుగు మంచి మాటలు చెప్తాం. కాని, అది పెద్ద తప్పు అని తర్వాత వారి ఒరిజినల్ ప్రవర్తన ద్వారా నిరూపించుకుంటుంటారు. 

వీళ్ళు మన గురించి మంచి మాటలు చెప్పకపోయినా ఫరవాలేదు. కాని, నెగెటివ్ ప్రచారం చేస్తారు. 

దీన్నే గ్రాటిట్యూడ్ అందామా?

నాకు ఇలాంటి అనుభవాలు ఒక డజన్ పైనే ఉంటాయి. అయినా సరే, నా పరిధి దాటి ఎవరికైనా సహాయమే చేస్తుంటాను. ఇప్పటికీ.

ఎవరో నన్ను గుర్తించాలని కాదు. అది నాలో సహజంగా అలా వచ్చింది. అంతే. 

కాని, ఇలా సహాయం చేయడం, ప్రోత్సహించడం అనేది అంతిమంగా నాకు తలవంపులు తెచ్చేది కావద్దు కదా...

"రిస్క్-ఫ్రీ"గా ఎంత చిన్న బడ్జెట్‌లో సినిమా తీయగలం?

ప్రపంచంలోని ఏ ఫిలిం ఇండస్ట్రీలో అయినా థియేట్రికల్ సక్సెస్ అనేది జస్ట్ 5 శాతం మాత్రమే. 

ఓటీటీలో, ఆన్‌లైన్లో చూడ్డం... అదంతా వేరే. 

కట్ చేస్తే - 

మీకు తెలుసా? 

మొన్న ఒక్క నవంబర్ నెలలోనే తెలుగులో 39 సినిమాలు రిలీజ్ అయ్యాయి. వాటిలో ఒకే ఒక్క సినిమా హిట్ అయింది. అది చాలా చిన్న బడ్జెట్ సినిమా. అంతా కొత్తవాళ్ళతో తీసిన ఇండిపెండెంట్ సినిమా.

అది...
"రాజు వెడ్స్ రాంబాయి".

ఇంకో సినిమా, "ఆంధ్రా కింగ్ తాలూకా"కు బాగుంది అన్న టాక్ వచ్చింది కాని, రావల్సిన కలెక్షన్ రాలేదు. 

సినిమాల హిట్-ఫ్లాప్‌ల విషయంలో పెద్ద సినిమా, చిన్న సినిమా అని ఏం ఉండదు.

పోస్ట్ కోవిడ్ రోజుల నుంచి ప్రేక్షకులు కూడా క్రమంగా ఓటీటీలకే పరిమితం అవుతున్నారు. థియేటర్స్‌కు వెళ్ళి సినిమా చూసే ప్రేక్షకులు ఇంకా ఇంకా తగ్గిపోతున్నారు.      

ఈ నేపథ్యంలో -

"రిస్క్-ఫ్రీ"గా ఎంత చిన్న బడ్జెట్‌లో సినిమా తీయగలం? 

ఎంత మంచి కంటెంట్ ఇవ్వగలం?

ఏ స్థాయి హిట్ ఇవ్వగలం?...

అన్నదే ఇప్పుడు ఇండిపెండెంట్ ఫిలిం మేకర్స్ విషయంలో ఒక కొత్త చాలెంజ్ అయింది.

హిట్ సినిమాకో లెక్కుంది!

ఆమధ్య మేం చేసిన రోడ్ క్రైం థ్రిల్లర్ "ఎర్ర గులాబి" ప్రొడ్యూసర్ యువన్ శేఖర్ ఒకసారి ఒక మాటన్నాడు. 

"ఏమైనా సరే, మీరు ఇప్పుడు ఒక హిట్ ఇవ్వాలి" అని. 

నాకు కూడా నిజంగా ఒక హిట్ ఇవ్వాలనే ఉంది. కాని, మంచి బడ్జెట్‌తో దానికి సపోర్ట్ చేసే ప్రొడ్యూసర్ ఒకరు దొరకాలి.

దొరకరు.
మనమే క్రియేట్ చేసుకోవాలి.

నేనిప్పుడు ఆ పనిలోనే ఉన్నాను. 

కట్ చేస్తే - 

ఏ ప్రొడ్యూసర్ అయినా, ఏ డైరెక్టర్ అయినా సినిమా హిట్ కావాలనే చేస్తారు.

కాని, ఎప్పుడైనా ఎక్కడైనా ఏ వుడ్‌లో అయినా...
ఎక్కువలో ఎక్కువ ఒక 5% సినిమాలు మాత్రమే హిట్ అవుతాయి. 

ప్రపంచంలో ఎక్కడైనా ఇదే లెక్క.

ఆ 5% హిట్స్‌లో మనం ఉండాలి. 

అదీ అసలు లెక్క.

వర్చువల్ ఆఫీస్ ఆలోచన ఇంకోసారి... ఎందుకంటే...

నాలుగు గోడల మధ్య ఆఫీస్ కల్చర్ రోజులు పోయాయి.

ఎక్కడికెళ్తే అక్కడే పని.
ఎక్కడ ఇష్టంగా ఉంటే అక్కడ్నుంచే పని. 

ఇండిపెండెంట్ సినిమాలకైతే నా దృష్టిలో అసలు ఆఫీసే అవసరం లేదు. పనినిబట్టి, అవసరాన్ని బట్టి, టీమ్ ఎక్కడ కలిస్తే అదే ఆఫీస్. 

డిజిటల్ ఆఫీస్ అన్నమాట.

వర్చువల్ ఆఫీస్ అని కూడా అనొచ్చు. 

ఇలాంటి వర్చువల్ ఆఫీసులతో ఇండిపెండెంట్ సినిమాలు తీసి మిలియన్లలో డాలర్స్ కొల్లగొట్టిన ఫిలిం మేకర్స్ హాలీవుడ్‌లో చాలామంది ఉన్నారు.

రాబర్ట్ రోడ్రిగ్జ్... ఒక పెద్ద ఉదాహరణ.   

కట్ చేస్తే -

మొన్నీమధ్యే నాకు తెలిసిన ఒక డైరెక్టర్ కొత్తగా ఆఫీస్ తీసాడు. ఇన్వెస్టర్స్, ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్, మీడియేటర్స్ బోలెడంత మంది ఇచ్చిన ప్రామిస్‌లను, హామీలను నమ్మి ఆ పనిచేశాడు. 

నిజానికి అది ప్రొడ్యూసర్ చేయాల్సిన పని.
రాంగ్ డెసిషన్.  

అయినా జాగ్రత్త పడలేదు మన డైరెక్టర్. మళ్ళీ టెంప్ట్ అయ్యాడు. మళ్ళీ మనుషుల్ని, వారి మాటల్ని నమ్మాడు. స్టార్ హోటల్లో సినిమా ఓపెనింగ్ చేస్తే కోట్లు పెట్టిస్తాం అన్నారు. గుడ్డిగా నమ్మాడు.  

రాంగ్ డెసిషన్ నంబర్ టూ. 

స్టార్ హోటల్లో ఓపెనింగ్ అయింది. 

మాట ఇచ్చినవాళ్లంతా, కోతలు కోసినవాళ్లంతా బంధుమిత్ర సమేతంగా వచ్చి తిని. టైం పాస్ చేసి, ఫోటోలు దిగి వెళ్లారు. తర్వాత ఒక్క కాల్, ఒక్క మెసేజ్ లేదు. 

అవసరార్థం మనుషులు. అంతే.

తప్పు వాళ్లది కాదు. 

డైరెక్టర్ ది. 

ఎవరు ఎలాంటి వ్యక్తిత్వాలో తెలీకుండా నమ్మి నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకోడం మూర్ఖత్వం. 

ఆఫీసు, ఫర్నిచర్, 18 నెలల మెయింటెనెన్స్, స్టార్ హోటల్లో ఓపెనింగ్... అన్ని కలిపి కొత్తగా ఇంకో 20 లక్షలు నష్టం. 

ఇలాంటివి సినిమా ఫీల్డులో సర్వసాధారణం. 

తెలిసి చేసే తప్పులు ఇలా ఉంటాయి. 

ముఖ్యంగా డైరెక్టర్స్ లైఫ్ ఒక రేంజ్‌లో కిందామీదా అవుతుంటుంది. 

ఇలా అప్‌కమింగ్ వాళ్ళకే కాదు, టాప్ హిట్స్ ఇచ్చిన డైరెక్టర్స్‌కు కూడా జరుగుతుంటుంది. 

ఒక్కొక్కరి అనుభవం ఒక్కోసారి ఒక్కోలా ఉంటుంది.

ఎప్పటికప్పుడు ఇలాంటి మనుషులతో జ్ఞానోదయాల సిరీస్ నడుస్తుంటుంది... ముఖ్యంగా ఫిలిం డైరెక్టర్స్‌కు.  

అందుకే ఎవరు చేసే పనులు వాళ్ళు చెయ్యాలి.
టెంప్ట్ కావద్దు. 

ముఖ్యంగా సినిమా.

ప్రతిరోజూ, ప్రతి క్షణం ఇక్కడ ఏదో ఒక టెంప్టేషన్ ఉంటుంది. ఈ టెంప్టేషన్‌ను గెలవటం ఇక్కడ అంత ఈజీ కాదు. అది గెల్చినవాడు నిజంగా తోపు.      

ఇలాంటి ఎపిసోడ్స్ చూసినప్పుడల్లా నేను సోషల్ మీడియాలో ఒక పోస్టు పెడుతుంటాను… 

“తాడి చెట్టు కిందకి వెళ్తే, అక్కడ కల్లే తాగాలి” అని. 

కట్ చేస్తే -

ఇలాంటి నష్టం ఒక్క డబ్బుతోనే కాదు, పనికిరాని ఈగోలతో కూడా జరుగుతుంటుంది. 

కావల్సినంత బడ్జెట్ ఉండీ, భారీ స్టార్స్ ఉన్న సినిమాలు కూడా సంవత్సరాలుగా ఆగిపోతుంటాయి. 

అల్టిమేట్‌గా నష్టం ప్రొడ్యూసర్లు, డైరెక్టర్లకే.

అందుకే, "మనం ఎప్పుడూ ఒక దట్టమైన అడవిలో ఉన్నట్టు ఫీలవుతూ, ప్రతి నిమిషం అలర్ట్‌గా ఉండాలి. ఏ మూల నుంచి ఏ జంతువు వచ్చి మనల్ని ఎలా ఎటాక్ చేస్తుందో తెలీదు" అంటాడు పూరి జగన్నాధ్.    

ఇప్పటికైనా అర్థమైందా, ప్రదీప్?

"కోపరేటివ్ ఫిలిం మేకింగ్" ఎలా?

1992 లోనే, హాలీవుడ్‌లో రాబర్ట్ రోడ్రిగ్జ్ ఇదే పద్ధతిలో "ఎల్ మరియాచి" సినిమా తీశాడు. 

సోషల్ మీడియా లేని కాలంలోనే, 2007లో, నా రెండో సినిమా "అలా" ఈ పద్ధతిలోనే తీశాను. 2011లో ఆర్జీవీ "దొంగల ముఠా" కూడా ఇదే పద్ధతిలో తీశాడు. ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఇంకెందరో ఇండిపెండెంట్ ఫిలిమ్మేకర్స్ ఇప్పటికీ ఇదే పద్ధతిలో ఎన్నెన్నో అద్భుతమైన సినిమాలు చేస్తున్నారు. 

ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఫిలిం ఫెస్టివల్స్‌లో మనం చూసే సినిమాల్లో ఎక్కువ శాతం సినిమాలు ఈ కోపరేటివ్ ఫిలిం మేకింగ్ పద్ధతిలో తీసినవే.   

కట్ చేస్తే - 

కోపరేటివ్ ఫిలిం మేకింగ్ పద్ధతిలో - పాతవాళ్లయినా, కొత్తవాళ్లయినా - ఆర్టిస్టులు, టెక్నీషియన్లకు రెమ్యూనరేషన్ ముందు ఇవ్వటం అనేది అసలు ఉండదు.  

సినిమా పూర్తయ్యి, రిలీజయ్యి, లాభాలు వచ్చాకే ఆ లెక్కలు. దీనికి ఒప్పుకున్నవాళ్లే సినిమాలో పనిచేస్తారు.

సినిమాలో పనిచేసే ప్రతి ఒక్కరి ఇన్వెస్ట్‌మెంట్ కంట్రిబ్యూషన్ - మనీ/పని ఏదయినా - ఏదో ఒక రూపంలో ఎంతో కొంత ఉంటుంది.   

ఎందుకంటే - 

ఇండిపెండెంట్ కోపరేటివ్ సినిమాలకు అసలు ప్రొడ్యూసర్ ఉండడు. 

సినిమా కోసం అనుకున్న బడ్జెట్‌ను ఓ నలుగురయిదుగురు -లేదా- అంతకంటే ఎక్కువ మంది లైక్‌మైండెడ్ ఫిలిం ప్యాషనేట్స్ తలా కొంత షేర్ చేసుకుంటారు.   

సినిమా బడ్జెట్ కోటి కావచ్చు, రెండు కోట్లు కావొచ్చు. అలా మేం పూల్ చేసుకున్న బడ్జెట్‌ను ఫిలిం మేకింగ్‌కు, ఫిలిం ప్రమోషన్‌కు మాత్రమే వాడతాం.

ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్, స్టార్స్ లేని ఇండిపెండెంట్ సినిమాల విషయంలో, ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఇప్పటికీ ఈ ఒక్క పద్ధతే ఎక్కువగా విజయవంతంగా నడుస్తోంది.  

ఈ కోపరేటివ్ ఫిలిం మేకింగ్ పద్ధతిలో ప్లాన్ చేసి తీసే సినిమాలు మంచి బజ్ క్రియేట్ చేస్తాయి. మంచి బిజినెస్ చేస్తాయి. ప్రొవైడెడ్, సరైన స్ట్రాటజీతో చేయగలిగితే. 

కోపరేటివ్ ఫిలిం మేకింగ్ పద్ధతిలో ఇప్పుడు మేం చేయబోతున్న రెండు సినిమాల్లో డైరెక్షన్ డిపార్ట్‌మెంట్లో పనిచేయాలన్న ఆసక్తి, ప్యాషన్ ఉన్న కొత్త అసిస్టెంట్ డైరెక్టర్స్ అప్లైచేసుకోవచ్చు.

కోపరేటివ్ ఫిలిం మేకింగ్ పద్ధతిలో తాజాగా నేను చేస్తున్న రెండు ఇండిపెండెంట్ ఫీచర్ ఫిలిమ్స్ ప్రి-ప్రొడక్షన్ వర్క్ కూడా ఇప్పుడు జరుగుతోంది.  

ఈ సిస్టమ్‌లో నాతో కలిసి మా టీమ్‌లో పనిచేయాలనుకొనే కొత్త ఆర్టిస్టులు, టెక్నీషియన్లు, ఇన్వెస్టర్లు నన్ను కాంటాక్ట్ చేయొచ్చు. 

అలాగే - సినిమాల పట్ల ఆసక్తి, ప్యాషన్, సీరియస్‌నెస్ ఉన్న న్యూ టాలెంట్ నా వాట్సాప్ చానల్ "MC Renegade Film Club" లో జాయిన్ కావచ్చు. నా కొత్త సినిమాల ప్రకటన, ప్రారంభం, షూటింగ్, ప్రోగ్రెస్ లాంటి వివరాల అప్‌డేట్స్ ఎప్పటికప్పుడు ఈ చానెల్లో పోస్ట్ చేస్తుంటాము. ముఖ్యంగా కొత్తవారికి అవకాశాలు, ఆడిషన్స్ వివరాలు ఈ చానెల్లోనే ముందుగా పోస్ట్ చేస్తాము.
