నేను బాపుగారింటికి వెళ్ళినరోజు

బాపుగారి బొమ్మ అంటే మామూలుగా అయితే రెండర్థాలు స్పురిస్తాయి: బాపు గీసిన బొమ్మ, బాపు సినిమా.

ఈ రెండూ కాకుండా, సుమారు 18 ఏళ్ళక్రితం మద్రాసులోని వారి ఇంట్లో బాపుగారిని కలిసినప్పటి సంగతులు ఇప్పుడు నేను రాస్తున్నాను. పాత పోస్టే కొత్తగా రాస్తున్నాను.   

అప్పట్లో నేను రాయదల్చుకున్న ఒక పుస్తకం కోసం కొంతమంది నేను ఎన్నికచేసుకొన్న దర్శకులను కలవటం జరిగింది. ఆ ప్రాసెస్‌లో భాగంగా ఒక మధ్యాహ్నం వారి టైమ్ తీసుకొని బాపుగారి ఇంటికి వెళ్లాను. నాతోపాటు నా మిత్రుడు, కోడైరెక్టర్ వేణుగోపాల్ కూడా వచ్చాడు.

మధ్యాహ్నం 2 గంటల నుంచి, సాయంత్రం 7 మధ్యలో – సుమారు 3 గంటలపాటు బాపుగారితో మాట్లాడుతూ, వారి ఇంటర్వ్యూను ఆడియో రికార్డు చేశాను.

అసలు బాపుగారితో పక్కపక్కనే ఒకే సోఫా మీద కూర్చొని, వారితో అన్ని గంటలపాటు ముచ్చటించటం, వారి ఇంటర్వ్యూని రికార్డ్ చేయటం అనేది నిజంగా నేను అంతకు ముందు ఎప్పుడూ ఊహించని ఒక గొప్ప అనుభవం. 

బాపుగారు కేవలం ఒక చలనచిత్ర దర్శకుడే కాదు… ఒక అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయి పెయింటర్, ఇల్లస్ట్రేటర్, కార్టూనిస్ట్, స్టోరీబోర్డ్ ఆర్టిస్ట్, మ్యూజిక్ ఆర్టిస్ట్, డిజైనర్ కూడా. 

1964 లోనే యునెస్కో స్పాన్సర్ చేసిన ఒక అంతర్జాతీయ సెమినార్లో చిల్డ్రెన్స్ బుక్స్ మీద ప్రెజెంటేషన్ ఇవ్వగలిగిన మేధావి. వాల్టర్ థామ్సన్, ఎఫిషియెంట్ పబ్లిసిటీస్, ఎఫ్ డి స్టీవార్ట్స్ వంటి అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయి యాడ్ ఏజెన్సీలకు గ్రాఫిక్ ఆర్టిస్ట్‌గా పనిచేసిన అనుభవం ఉన్న బహుముఖప్రజ్ఞాశాలి. 1960 ల్లోనే ఫోర్డ్ ఫౌండేషన్‌ తరపున "ది సదరన్ లాంగ్వేజ్ బుక్ ట్రస్ట్‌"కు ఆర్ట్ కన్సల్టెంట్‌గా పనిచేశారాయన. 

అదంతా కంప్యూటర్లు, ఇంటర్నెట్టూ, ఆన్‌లైన్ కమ్యూనికేషన్ వంటివి లేని కాలం అన్న విషయం ఇక్కడ మనం గమనించాలి!

అప్పట్లో పబ్లిష్ అయిన ప్రతి తెలుగు నవలమీద, ప్రతి కథా సంకలనం మీద, వీక్లీల కవర్లపైన, మ్యాగజైన్ల వార్షిక సంచికలమీద… బాపు గారు గీసిన ముఖచిత్రం మాత్రమే ఎక్కువగా ఉండేది. అలాంటి ముఖచిత్రాలు వారు ఎన్ని వందల పుస్తకాలకు వేశారన్నది చెప్పటం కష్టం. 

దర్శకుడిగా బాపు చేసిన దాదాపు 48 సినిమాల్లో 10 హిందీ సినిమాలు, ఒక తమిళ సినిమా కూడా ఉంది. వారి సినిమాలు అంతర్జాతీయ ఫిలిం ఫెస్టివల్స్‌లో ప్రదర్శించబడ్డాయి. అవార్డులు, రివార్డులు గెల్చుకొన్నాయి.

బాపు గారికి కూడా 2013లో పద్మశ్రీ అవార్డుతో పాటు అంతకు ముందే ఎన్నో అవార్డులు వచ్చాయి.

ఒక దశలో హిందీలో ఒక టాప్ హీరోగా వెలిగిన అనిల్ కపూర్‌ను, తెలుగులో వంశవృక్షం చిత్రం ద్వారా మొట్టమొదటగా వెండితెరకు పరిచయం చేసింది బాపుగారే అవటం ఒక గమ్మత్తైన విశేషం. 

బాపుగారు షూటింగ్‌కు ముందే తాను తీయబోయే ప్రతి షాట్‌నూ స్టోరీబోర్డ్ రూపంలో గీసుకుంటారు. సినిమాల్లో వారి ఫ్రేమ్స్ అన్నీ వారు గీసిన స్టోరీబోర్డులో బొమ్మల్లాగే ఉండటంలో ఎలాటి ఆశ్చర్యం లేదు. ముఖ్యంగా వారి సినిమాల్లో హీరోయిన్స్… వారి కళ్ళు, క్లోజప్స్, చీరెకట్టు, నడుము వొంపులు, వాలు జడ, కాళ్ళు, పాదాలు…

వారి చాలా సినిమాల స్టోరీబోర్డులను వారి ఇంట్లోనే చూసిన అతికొద్దిమందిలో నేనూ ఒకన్ని.

అప్పట్లో తెలుగు కాస్త బాగా రాయగలిగిన దాదాపు ప్రతి యువకుడూ, ప్రతి కవీ, ప్రతి రచయితా తమ చేతి వ్రాతను బాపుగారి స్టయిల్లో రాసే ప్రయత్నం చేసేవారంటే అతిశయోక్తికాదు. బాపు రైటింగ్ శైలి ప్రభావం నామీద కూడా బోలెడంత వుంది. 

కట్ చేస్తే –

మద్రాసులో నేను బాపుగారింటికి వెళ్ళినప్పుడు, వారి ఇంట్లో ఆరోజు ఎవరూ లేరనుకొంటాను. ఒకసారి వాళ్ల అబ్బాయి, మరొకసారి స్వయంగా బాపుగారే అందించిన కాఫీ త్రాగటం మర్చిపోలేని జ్ఞాపకం. 

వారి ఇంట్లో కూర్చున్న ఆ 5 గంటలూ నన్ను “మీరు” అని, “మనోహర్ గారు” అని పిలవటం నేను చాలా ఇబ్బందిపడిన విషయం. నాకు తెలిసి, బాపుగారు వారి అసిస్టెంట్స్‌ను కూడా “మీరు” అనే పిలుస్తారట. 

ఇంటర్వ్యూ నడుస్తుండగా, 90 నిమిషాల ఆడియో క్యాసెట్ సరిపోదన్న విషయం ముందే గుర్తించిన నా మిత్రుడు వేణుగోపాల్ బయటకెళ్ళి వేగంగా ఇంకో క్యాసెట్ కొనుక్కొచ్చిన విషయం నాకింకా గుర్తుంది. షెల్ఫుల్లో ఎక్కడో అట్టడబ్బాల్లో ఉన్న ఆ క్యాసెట్లని ఇప్పుడు డిజిటలైజ్ చెయ్యాలనుకుంటున్నాను. నా యూట్యూబ్ చానెల్లో అప్‌లోడ్ చెయ్యాలనుకుంటున్నాను.    

వీటన్నిటినీ మించి బాపుగారికి సంబంధించి నేను చెప్పదల్చుకొన్న మరొక అద్భుత విషయాన్ని గురించి ఇప్పుడు చివరగా చెప్తున్నాను. అది… బాపుగారి “వర్క్‌రూమ్-కమ్-స్టడీరూమ్.”

బాపు గారి వర్క్‌రూమ్ ఒక పెద్ద హాల్ సైజులో ఉంటుంది. దానికి రెండువైపులా ద్వారాలుంటాయి. చుట్టూ వున్న నాలుగు గోడలు పూర్తిగా నిలువెత్తు ర్యాక్స్‌తో ఫిక్స్‌చేసివుంటాయి. వందలాది పుస్తకాలు.

హాల్ మధ్యలో వేర్వేరుచోట్ల కూర్చొని పనిచేసుకోడానికి అక్కడక్కడా రెండు బీన్ బ్యాగులు, చిన్న చిన్న పీటల్లాంటి కుషన్లు. ఎక్కడ కూర్చొంటే అక్కడే ఆర్ట్, రైటింగ్ సెటప్… బ్రష్షులు, పెన్నులు, పెన్సిళ్ళు, ఇంకులు, రంగులు, ప్యాలెట్లు…

అంటే – ఆయన ఎక్కడ కూర్చోవాలనుకొంటే అక్కడే కూర్చొని ఆర్ట్ వేయటమో, రాసుకోవడమో, చదవటమో చేస్తారన్నమాట!

నేనొక ట్రాన్స్‌లోకి వెళ్ళిపోయి, ఒక 30 నిమిషాలపాటు స్పెల్‌బౌండ్ అయి చూసిన బాపుగారి వర్క్‌రూమ్-కమ్-స్టడీని ఇన్నేళ్ళ తర్వాత కూడా అడుగు అడుగూ వర్ణించగలను!

సృజనశీలి అయిన ఒక అద్భుత వ్యక్తికి అంతకు మించిన ఆస్తి ఏముంటుంది? 

బాపు గారి దగ్గర కొన్ని సినిమాలకు అసిస్టెంట్‌గా పనిచేసిన మిత్రుడు, డైరెక్టర్ గాంధీ మనోహర్ నిజంగా అదృష్టవంతుడు. 

వెళ్తూ వెళ్తూ ప్రచురణకోసం వారి ఫోటో ఒకటి అడిగాను. తర్వాత, మనసు మార్చుకొని – సిగార్‌తో వున్నదీ, ఆయనే స్వయంగా వేసుకొన్న ‘బాపుగారి బొమ్మ’ కావాలన్నాను. 

“నేను మీకోసం కొత్తగా ఒకటి వేసి మీకు పోస్ట్ చేస్తాను” అని నా అడ్రెస్ తీసుకొన్నారు. మాట ఇచ్చినట్టే సరిగా వారం రోజుల్లో బాపుగారినుంచి పోస్టులో ‘సిగార్‌తో బాపుగారి బొమ్మ’ వచ్చింది!

ఆ బొమ్మ, ప్లస్, వారిదగ్గర నేను అడిగి తీసుకొన్న ‘పెళ్ళిపుస్తకం’ సినిమాలోని ఒక సీన్‌కు వారు వేసుకొన్న మొత్తం స్టోరీబోర్డు కాపీ ఇప్పటికీ ఒక కార్డ్‌బోర్డ్ పెట్టెలో నాదగ్గర భద్రంగా ఉన్నాయి.

వారికి సెలవు చెప్పి బయటికి వస్తోంటే ఇంటిముందు విశాలమైన ఆవరణలో ఒక ఊయల. ఎదురుగానే హీరో మమ్ముట్టి ఇల్లు. గేట్ దాటి బయటకు వెళ్తూ వెనక్కి తిరిగిచూస్తే – ఇంకా బయటే మాకు చేయి ఊపుతూ బాపు గారు!

ఇన్ని అద్భుత జ్ఞాపకాలనిచ్చిన బాపుగారికి వారి జయంతి సందర్భంగా ఇదే నా వినమ్ర నివాళి.

ఏ రంగంలో అయినా మార్పు అనేది అత్యంత సహజం

ఒక ఫిలిం డైరెక్టర్ సినిమా తీయాలంటే దశాబ్దాలుగా మన దగ్గర ఒక పాత రొటీన్ ఉంది:

ఒక ప్రొడ్యూసర్ దగ్గరికో, హీరో దగ్గరికో వెళ్ళి వాళ్ళని ఇంప్రెస్ చేసేలా కథ చెప్పటం, ఓకే చేయించుకోవటం... తర్వాత ఆ ప్రొడ్యూసర్ సినిమా తీసినప్పుడు, లేదా ఆ హీరో డేట్స్ ఇచ్చినప్పుడు సినిమా చేయటం... లేదా, అప్పుడూ ఇప్పుడూ అని వాళ్ళు మభ్యపెడుతున్నది నమ్ముతూ సంవత్సరాలకి సంవత్సరాలు వృధాచేసుకోవడం. 

ఇదంతా పాత కథ. పనికిరాని ఒక పాత రొటీన్.  

ఇప్పుడలా కాదు. అంతా కార్పొరేట్ స్టయిల్. 

ఒక డైరెక్టర్ తన ప్రాజెక్ట్ ప్లాన్‌తో, ప్రపంచంలో ఎవ్వరి నుంచైనా, ఏ కార్పొరేట్ ఫండర్ నుంచైనా ఫండింగ్ తెచ్చుకోవచ్చు. డీల్ ప్రకారం వాళ్ళ బెనెఫిట్స్ వాళ్ళకు ఇవ్వొచ్చు. పూర్తి క్రియేటివ్ ఫ్రీడమ్‌తో మనం అనుకున్న సినిమాల్ని మనం తీసుకోవచ్చు.   

నెమ్మదిగా మన దగ్గర కూడా ఇప్పుడు ఈ సిస్టమ్ ప్రారంభమైంది. వేగం పుంజుకొంటోంది. 

ఏ రంగంలో అయినా మార్పు అనేది అత్యంత సహజం. దాన్ని ఎవ్వరూ ఆపలేరు.

పెద్ద సినిమాలు, పెద్ద గ్యాంబ్లింగ్!

ఇప్పుడు ఏదీ ఎవ్వరూ వివరించి చెప్పే అవసరం లేదు. ఎవరికి ఎంత మార్కెట్ ఉంది, ఎంత ఇన్వెస్ట్ చేస్తున్నారు, హిట్ అయినా ఎంత వస్తుంది, ఫట్ అయితే పరిస్థితి ఏంటి... అన్నది జస్ట్ సింపుల్ లాజిక్.

మీకు తెలుసా? 

మొన్న ఒక్క నవంబర్ నెలలోనే తెలుగులో దాదాపు ఒక 40 సినిమాలు రిలీజ్ అయ్యాయి. వాటిలో ఒకే ఒక్క సినిమా హిట్ అయింది. అది, "రాజు వెడ్స్ రాంబాయి". ఇంకో సినిమా, "ఆంధ్రా కింగ్ తాలూకా"కు బాగుంది అన్న టాక్ వచ్చింది కాని, రావల్సిన కలెక్షన్ రాలేదు.   

సినిమాల హిట్-ఫ్లాప్‌ల విషయంలో పెద్దా చిన్నా ఏం ఉండదు. పోస్ట్ కోవిడ్ రోజుల నుంచి ప్రేక్షకులు కూడా క్రమంగా ఓటీటీలకే పరిమితం అవుతున్నారు. థియేటర్స్‌కు వెళ్ళి సినిమా చూసే ప్రేక్షకులు ఇంకా ఇంకా తగ్గిపోతారు.

సోషల్ మీడియా లేని కాలంలోనే, 2007లో, నా రెండో సినిమా "అలా" ఈ పద్ధతిలోనే తీశాను. 2011లో ఆర్జీవీ "దొంగల ముఠా" కూడా ఇదే పద్ధతిలో తీశాడు. ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఇంకెందరో ఇండిపెండెంట్ ఫిలిమ్మేకర్స్ ఇప్పటికీ ఇదే పద్ధతిలో ఎన్నెన్నో అద్భుతమైన సినిమాలు చేస్తున్నారు.  

కట్ చేస్తే -  

కోపరేటివ్ ఫిలిం మేకింగ్ పద్ధతిలో - పాతవాళ్లయినా, కొత్తవాళ్లయినా - ఆర్టిస్టులు, టెక్నీషియన్లకు రెమ్యూనరేషన్ ముందు ఇవ్వటం అనేది అసలు ఉండదు.

చేసిన తప్పులే చేస్తున్నామా? కొత్త తప్పులు కూడా చేశామా? ఏం నేర్చుకున్నాం?      

తీసుకున్న నిర్ణయాలేంటి? ఎన్నిటికి నిలబడ్డాం? ఎన్ని మార్చుకున్నాం?  

... ఒక అరగంటో, గంటో అంతర్విశ్లేషణ చాలా అవసరం. 

ఆర్థికం.

సాంఘికం.

వ్యక్తిగతం. 

అంతర్విశ్లేషణ చాలా అవసరం. 

కనీసం ఇలాంటి ఒక సందర్భం వచ్చినప్పుడైనా, మన కోసం మనం ఇలా కొన్ని నిమిషాలైనా కెటాయించుకోవాలి. మనతో మనం "మన సమయం" గడపాలి.

Is Writing About Spirituality a Crime?

Sometimes people ask, “Why do you write so much about spirituality? Isn’t it too personal? Too serious? Too much?”

But here’s the truth...

Writing about spirituality is not a crime.

For many of us, it is survival. 

We write about it because the world is noisy.

Because life pulls us in a hundred directions.

Because the mind gets tired, the heart gets confused, and the soul needs a reminder that it still exists.

Spirituality is not preaching.

It is remembering.

Remembering who we are behind the stress, behind the ambition, behind the daily chaos.

Sometimes we write for entertainment.

Sometimes we write for fame.

Sometimes we write for money.

And some of us write to stay awake — to breathe deeper, live slower, and touch that quiet place inside that still feels alive.

Writing about spirituality is not a crime.

It is an offering. 

A mirror.

A hand reaching out in the dark, saying...
“You’re not alone. There is still light in you.” 

And if a few lines can bring peace to even one person — then it’s not just writing.

It’s service.

It’s healing.

It’s truth in words.

పెట్టిన విగ్రహాలన్నీ రోడ్లమీద దుమ్ముకొట్టుకొనిపోయుంటాయి. ఎవ్వడూ అటువైపు చూడడు. పుట్టినరోజో, పోయినరోజో వచ్చినప్పుడు తప్ప. 

అప్పుడు కూడా, విగ్రహం పక్కనే ఫిక్స్‌డ్‌గా పాతేసిన ఇనుప నిచ్చెనల మీదకెక్కి దండలేసి, పూలు గుమ్మరించే పొలిటీషియన్స్ ఫోటోల కోసమే తప్ప, ఇంకెప్పుడూ ఎవ్వరూ అటువైపు చూడరు. 

మనవాళ్ళ ఇంకో పెద్ద మతిలేని పని ఏంటంటే - విగ్రహాల ప్రాముఖ్యతను, అందాన్ని మింగేసే సైజులో ఒక నల్లటి ఇనుప నిచ్చెనను అక్కడ పక్కనే పాతెయ్యడం! 

ఇలాంటి గొప్ప అద్భుతం ఒక్క మన దేశంలోనే అనుకుంటాను మనం చూసేది.

విగ్రహం చూస్తే తప్ప గుర్తుకురారు అని ఎలా అనుకుంటాం? విగ్రహం పెట్టుకుంటే తప్ప స్మరించుకున్నట్టు కాదు అని ఎలా అనుకుంటాం?  

ఆయా వ్యక్తులు చేసిన పనులు, సాధించిన గొప్ప లక్ష్యాలే వారిని ప్రజల మనస్సుల్లో చిరస్మరణీయంగా నిలబెడతాయి.       

ప్రజా శ్రేయస్సు కోసం, రాష్ట్రాల అభివృద్ధి కోసం, దేశాన్ని ఒక అగ్ర రాజ్యం చేయడం కోసం అందరి ఆలోచన, అందరి తపన, అందరి కృషి టాప్ ప్రయారిటీలో ఉండాలి. ఒక జపాన్ లాగా, ఒక చైనా లాగా, ఒక రష్యా లాగా. మిగిలినవన్నీ ఉట్టుట్టి రాజకీయాలే. ఇప్పుడైనా ఎప్పుడైనా.   

ప్రాక్టికల్‌గా పనికొచ్చే పనులు తప్ప, 99% మంది మనవాళ్ళు మిగిలిన అన్ని పనులు చెయ్యడానికి పోటీపడుతుంటారు. 

ఏదీ సాఫీగా ఉండొద్దు. ఏదో ఒకటి గెలకాలి. దారి మళ్ళించాలి. నేపథ్యంలో సొంత ప్రయోజనాలు కూల్‌గా నెరవేర్చుకొంటూవుండాలి. 

మన ఆలోచనావిధానంలో, మన సమాజంలో, మన రాజకీయాల్లో ఒక లేయర్ లేయరే కొట్టుకుపోతే తప్ప... ఇంకో వందేళ్ళయినా... మనం ఇలా ఒక "అభివృద్ధిచెందుతున్న దేశం" చందంగానే వుంటాం.

Creating… and Living

ఈ న్యూస్‌ని ఎంతమంది నాకు ఫార్వార్డ్ చేశారో చెప్పలేను. 

వాళ్ళ ఉద్దేశ్యం ఏంటంటే, తీస్తే సినిమా అలా తీయాలి అని. 

ఇంకొందరు ఓటీటీలో కొన్ని మలయాళం సినిమాలు చూసి లింక్ పంపిస్తుంటారు. వాళ్ళ ఉద్దేశ్యం కూడా అదే... సినిమా తీస్తే అలా మలయాళం సినిమాల్లా తీయాలి అని.

పైన చెప్పిన లాంటి సినిమాలు తెలుగులో ఎందరో ఎన్నెన్నో తీశారు. ఒక్కడు థియేటర్‌కు వెళ్ళి సినిమా చూళ్ళేదు. అట్టర్ ఫ్లాప్ అయ్యాయి. ఒక్క పైసా రాలేదు. 

అతికొద్దిమంది రివ్యూయర్స్, మేధావులు మాత్రం సూపర్ అంటూ కితాబులిచ్చారు.  

నీతి ఏంటంటే... ఇలా నీతులు చెప్పేవాళ్ళెవ్వరూ సినిమాలు చేయలేరు. సినిమాలు చేసేవాళ్ళెవ్వరూ ఈ నీతుల్ని పట్టించుకోరు.

Every Journey, No Matter How Wild, Ends in Spirituality

Creativity and spirituality —
two themes I love more than anything else.

On the surface, they look like opposites.
But their soul… is the same.

Joy.

Why can’t a pulp-fiction writer have a deep spiritual vision?
Why can’t a commercial film director carry silence in his heart?
Why can’t an artist who meditates put up a wild, vibrant exhibition?
Why can’t a big businessman, busy in million-dollar deals, produce a spiritual film?

Anyone can do anything.
They can build, create, hustle, rise to any height they dream of.
But in the end, everyone arrives at the same destination:

Spirituality.

That shift is inevitable.

Alexander reached it.
Ashoka reached it.
Chalam reached it.
Mahesh Bhatt reached it.

History has proven this again and again.

And here’s the deeper truth:
When creativity and spirituality finally meet inside a person, that’s when real freedom and real joy become possible.

Spirituality doesn’t mean abandoning everything.
It shouldn’t.
It simply means remembering who you are while doing what you do.

ఇంకో 36 రోజులైతే న్యూ ఇయర్ 2026 వస్తుంది. అసలిప్పటిదాకా, ఈ 11 నెలల్లో ఈ సంవత్సరం ఏం సాధించాను? 

2025 లోనే కాదు. అసలు మొత్తం నా జీవితంలో నేనేం సాధించాను? 

సంపూర్ణ అంతర్విశ్లేషణ చేసుకోవాల్సిన రోజు ఇది. 

ఇప్పుడదే చేస్తున్నాను. 

కట్ చేస్తే - 

ఇప్పటిదాకా కుటుంబం కోసం, పిల్లల కోసం ఆలోచించాను. కష్టపడ్డాను. ఇప్పుడు పూర్తిగా నాకోసం నేను ఆలోచిస్తున్నాను. నాకోసం నేను పనిచేస్తున్నాను. 

జీవితం ఒక్కటే. 

ఇప్పుడు దాన్ని సంపూర్ణంగా జీవించడానికి కమిట్ అయ్యాను.  

నా జీవితం నేను జీవిస్తున్నాను. 

బిగ్ మనీ రొటేషన్ కోసం నా సినిమా ప్రొఫెషన్ ఒక టూల్ మాత్రమే. రైటింగ్ మాత్రం నా ఫస్ట్ ప్యాషన్. ఈ రెండిటికీ 50-50 సమయం కెటాయిస్తున్నాను. 

ఇదే సమయంలో - నాకెంతో ఇష్టమైన స్పిరిచువాలిటీ దిశగా కూడా ఇప్పుడు నా ప్రయాణం కొనసాగుతోంది.     

For a true creative, there is no personal life or professional life — only one continuous creative life where work is joy and joy becomes work. And within that flow, I’m also walking my deepest path — my passion for Spirituality.

అలా కనిపించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు...

చాలా గ్యాప్ తర్వాత ఇవ్వాళ నాకు కాల్ చేసిన ఒక ఫ్రెండ్ అంటాడు, "నువ్వెప్పుడూ కూల్‌గా, కామ్‌గా ఉంటావు. అసలు రిస్కులు తీసుకోవు, టెన్షన్స్ పెట్టుకోవు" అని.

నిజానికి, నాకు తెలిసిన మా ఫ్రెండ్స్ అందరిలోనూ రిస్కులు తీసుకునేది నేనొక్కన్నే.

నేను తీసుకున్నంత రేంజ్‌లో ఏ ఒక్కరూ-ఐ రిపీట్-ఏ ఒక్కరు కూడా రిస్కులు తీసుకోలేదు. తీసుకోలేరు. 

ఇది గొప్ప విషయంగా నేను చెప్పుకోవటం లేదు. అలా జరిగింది. అంతే. 

సో, సహజంగానే... టెన్షన్స్ నాకే ఎక్కువ. 

కాని, అలా కనిపించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు అని నేననుకుంటాను. అలా ఉంటాను. 

Tension is the mind’s noise. Choose calm, choose clarity, and keep walking. Life opens for the quiet soul.

The Other Side of Creativity

Every coin has two sides. And when it comes to creativity, the flip side is spirituality.

We often think of creativity as an outward act — making, expressing, shaping something new. But look closer. Creativity is just another pathway inward. The same energy that drives us to paint, write, compose, direct, or build… also pulls us toward silence, stillness, and meaning.

Both creativity and spirituality lead us to the same destination: happiness, mental peace, anandam. One through expression, the other through introspection.

This is why every truly creative person, at some point, begins to love the quiet pull of spirituality. Not as an escape, but as a recharge. Not as a rulebook, but as a return to the source.

In the end, creativity takes us out into the world —

and spirituality brings us back home.

ఫస్ట్రేషన్లో పొరపాట్లు జరుగుతాయి. కాని...

ఒకవైపు అన్ని వేల మంది ముందు ప్రత్యక్షంగా, మరోవైపు కోట్ల మంది ప్రేక్షకులు ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా లైవ్ చూస్తున్నారని తెలిసీ... ఫస్ట్రేషన్లో మరీ అంత కంట్రోల్ తప్పి, అంత కేర్‌లెస్‌గా రాజమౌళి మాట్లాడ్డం నిజంగా ఊహించనిది.

ఫస్ట్రేషన్లో పొరపాట్లు జరుగుతాయి. అది సెన్సిటివ్ విషయాల మీద అయినప్పుడు సింపుల్‌గా ఒక క్షమాపణ చెప్పేస్తే పోయేదేం లేదు. రాజమౌళి కూడా మామూలు మనిషే కాబట్టి, మామూలుగా ఒక చిన్న "చింతిస్తున్నాను" మెసేజ్ పెడితే అయిపోతుంది కదా?!  

కట్ చేస్తే - 

రాజమౌళి "నాస్తికుడు" కావడం అతని ఇష్టం. దానికి ఎవ్వరి అభ్యంతరం ఉండదు, ఉండకూడదు. దీనికోసం పక్కనెవరో ఇంకో డైరెక్టర్ రాజ్యాంగంలోని ఆర్టికిల్ నంబర్ చెప్తూ డబ్బా కొట్టాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు.     

కాని, క్షమాపణ చెప్పడానికి ఇంత ఈగో ఫీలయ్యే "దేవుళ్ళ మీద నమ్మకంలేని నాస్తిక" రాజమౌళి... అదే దేవుళ్ళ ప్రస్తావన, కథ, పాత్రలు లేని సినిమాలు చేసుకోవాలి.   

బాహుబలిలో శివలింగం ప్లేస్‌లో ఇంకోటి ఏదైనా పెట్టుకోవాల్సి ఉండే. ఇప్పుడు వారణాసి టైటిల్, అందులో రాముని పాత్ర, హనుమంతుడు... ఇవన్నీ వాడుకొంటూ నాస్తికుడు దేవుళ్ళతో బిజినెస్ చేసుకోవచ్చా? అక్కడ ఈగో అడ్డు రాదా? 

ఆస్తిక ప్రస్తావన లేకుండా నాస్తికుడు సబ్జెక్టులు తయారుచేసుకోలేడా?  

అది చాతకాకపోతే అలాగే చేసుకొని బ్రతకొచ్చు.

కాని, "మీ హనుమంతుడు ఏం చేశాడు" అని అంతమంది ముందు సొంత తండ్రి, సొంత భార్య నమ్మకాల్ని అలా ఎగతాళి చెయ్యటం ఏం బాగుంది?

ఇది అసూయ కాదు. హాలీవుడ్ స్థాయిలో అంత భారీ సినిమా చేస్తూ, ఒక చిన్న స్లిప్ ఆఫ్ ద టంగ్ పొరపాటుని పెద్ద సమస్య చేసుకోకపోతే బాగుంటుందని. అంతే.

PPS: 
నిజమైన ఫ్రెండ్స్ అయితే నాలా "ఒక సారీ చెప్పెయ్, అయిపోతుంది" అని సలహా ఇస్తారు. ఇంకా దీన్ని సాగదీయరు.        

హాలీవుడ్ స్థాయి సినిమాల్ని తీయటం మంచిదే. కానీ...

ఈ డిజిటల్-ఏఐ-జెన్‌జీ-సోషల్‌మీడియా సునామీ యుగంలో - ప్రిరిలీజ్ లాంటి పరస్పరం డప్పులు కొట్టుకొనే రొటీన్ బోరింగ్ టైప్ ప్రమోషన్లు లేకుండా సినిమాకు హైప్ తీసుకురాలేమా? బిజినెస్ చెయ్యలేమా? రిలీజ్ చెయ్యలేమా? 

ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా వందల మిలియన్ల డాలర్ల బిజినెస్ చేసుకునే ఒక్క హాలీవుడ్ సినిమాకు కూడా ఇప్పటివరకు ఇలాంటి ప్రమోషన్లు లేవు. 

సినిమా గురించి ట్రేడ్ ఎనౌన్స్‌మెంట్, స్టూడియో ప్రెస్ రిలీజ్, ఫైనల్ కాస్ట్ రివీల్, షార్ట్ వీడియో స్నిప్పెట్స్, బిహైండ్ ద సీన్ ఫోటోలు, ఫెస్టివల్స్‌లో ప్రీమియర్స్, బ్రాండ్ టై-అప్స్, మ్యాగజైన్ కవర్స్, ఆర్టికిల్స్, ఫ్యాన్ స్క్రీనింగ్స్, క్రిటిక్స్ స్క్రీనింగ్స్, ఇన్‌ఫ్లుయెన్సర్ స్క్రీనింగ్స్, నాలుగైదు షోల్లో ఇంటర్వ్యూలు, ప్రెస్‌ నోట్స్, రిలీజ్ న్యూస్, స్టాండర్డ్‌గా ఒక్క పోస్టర్, ఒక్క అఫీషియల్ ట్రయలర్. అంతే. 

అదీ హాలీవుడ్ సినిమా ప్రమోషన్, మార్కెటింగ్. 

ప్రమోషన్ బడ్జెట్ ఉంటుంది. అంతా డిజిటలైజ్డ్ ప్రమోషనే తప్ప, ఎక్కడా వేలాదిమందిని ప్రత్యక్షంగా ఇన్వాల్వ్ చేసే కార్యక్రమాలుండవు. 

ఒక్కసారి ఏదైనా జరగరానిది జరిగితే, ప్రమాదం తీవ్రస్థాయిలో ఉంటుంది. ఎవ్వరూ దేన్నీ కంట్రోల్ చెయ్యలేరు. 

హాలీవుడ్ స్థాయి సినిమాల్ని తీయటం మంచిదే. ప్రమోషన్ విషయంలో కూడా హాలీవుడ్ స్థాయికి మనం ఎందుకు వెనకబడి ఉండాలి?   

కట్ చేస్తే -

మనదగ్గర ఒక్క టైటిల్ ఎనౌన్స్‌మెంట్‌కే 30 కోట్ల ఖర్చు. ప్రత్యక్షంగా వేలాది మంది ఫ్యాన్స్‌తో ఈవెంట్లు. 

ఇంక రిలీజ్ వరకు ఎన్ని ఈవెంట్స్ ఉంటాయో, ఎంత ఖర్చవుతుందో ఊహించవచ్చు. 

ఈ ఖర్చుతోనే ఇంకో భారీ బడ్జెట్ సినిమా ఈజీగా తీయొచ్చు.

ఇలాంటి భారీ మార్కెటింగ్ జిమ్మిక్స్‌తో భారీగా బిజినెస్ చెయ్యొచ్చు, భారీగా లాభాలు పొందొచ్చు. భారీగా రెమ్యూనరేషన్స్ పెంచుకోవచ్చు. వీటన్నిటి అంతిమ లక్ష్యం అదే కాబట్టి తప్పేం లేదు. 

కాని, తిరిగి తిరిగి ఈ ఖర్చు భారం సామాన్య ప్రేక్షకుడిపైన పడకూడదు. కాని, తప్పక పడుతుంది. ఏ సగటు ప్రేక్షకులవల్ల అయితే టికెట్స్ తెగుతాయో, ఆ ప్రేక్షకులే క్రమంగా  సినిమాకు దూరమవుతారు. లేదా, పక్కదారులు వెతుక్కుంటారు.    

ఇప్పుడు జరుగుతోంది అదే.

Somewhere along the way, we all started worshipping busyness. 

Busyness addicted. 
Calendars packed.
Back-to-back calls.
Zero breathing room.

And we convinced ourselves...
This is profession.
This is business.
This is success. 

But being overscheduled is nothing more than a self-built cage. 

A prison with fancy walls, where you keep running but never actually live.

Life isn’t meant to be a checklist. 

It’s meant to be felt… savored… tasted… lived with a little style.

When you’re overscheduled,
you lose the magic.
You lose the spark.
You lose yourself.

So slow down.
Say no.
Make space.
Let your mind wander.
Let your soul breathe.

Because the life that’s truly yours — the life that feels rich, creative, meaningful — won’t appear on a crowded calendar. 

It shows up only when you do.

పంచాక్షరమిదమ్ పుణ్యమ్

ప్రదీప్‌చంద్ర నాలాగే పది పడవల మీద కాళ్ళుపెట్టాడు. ఎక్కడా సెట్ అవ్వలేదు. 

ఒకదానికొకటి సంబంధం లేని రెండు పోస్ట్ గ్రాడ్యుయేషన్స్, మంచి సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్ ఉద్యోగం, సంగీతంలో కూడా పీజీ... ఏదీ అతన్ని కుదురుగా ఒక పనికొచ్చే మైండ్‌సెట్‌కు సెట్ చేసి, స్థిరంగా ముందుకు నడిచేలా చెయ్యలేకపోయాయి. 

సినిమా భాషలో చెప్పాలంటే, "మైండ్ దొబ్బింది."  

అసలెందుకు మొదలెట్టాడో అర్థమైంది. ఇప్పుడు మళ్ళీ కీబోర్డు ముందు కూర్చున్నాడు. 

ఫిలిం మ్యూజిక్ కంపోజింగ్ ఒక్కటే కాదు. ఫోక్, డివోషనల్, ప్రయివేట్ రొమాంటిక్ ఆల్బమ్స్, ర్యాప్... ఇప్పుడు అన్నీ కంపోజ్ చేస్తున్నాడు ప్రదీప్.

కొత్త సింగర్స్‌ను కూడా పరిచయం చేస్తున్నాడు.    

కట్ చేస్తే -      

ఇప్పుడు హాట్ హాట్‌గా ఒక అయిదు పాటల కొత్త ప్రయివేట్ ఆల్బం చేస్తున్నాడు ప్రదీప్. సోలో ఫిమేల్ వాయిస్ అనుకుంటాను. 

ఆల్బంకి ముందు, మళ్ళీ మ్యూజిక్ మూడ్ లోకి రావడానికి ఓ రెండు భక్తి పాటలు చేశాడు. అందులో ఒకటి నా యూట్యూబ్ చానెల్ నుంచి మొన్ననే అప్లోడ్ చేశాం.

మంచి సూదింగ్ కంపోజింగ్. సంతోష్ సాగర్ చేత పాడించాడు.

పోస్ట్-ప్రొడక్షన్లో ఉన్న నా రోడ్ క్రైమ్ డ్రామా "ఎర్ర గులాబి" సినిమాలో కూడా ఒక ఐటమ్ నంబర్, బ్యాగ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ ప్రదీపే చేస్తున్నాడు.

నా రొమాంటిక్ హారర్ సినిమా "స్విమ్మింగ్ పూల్" ద్వారా ఇండస్ట్రీకి పరిచయమైన ప్రదీప్‌చంద్ర, ఇప్పుడు నేను చేయబోతున్న కొత్త సినిమాకి పనిచేస్తున్నాడు. మ్యూజిక్ సిట్టింగ్స్ ఈసారి ముంబై అనుకుంటున్నాడు. 

ప్రదీప్ పూర్తి ఫోకస్ ఇప్పుడు పూర్తిగా మ్యూజిక్ పైనే ఉంది. అతను అనుకున్నది ఇప్పుడు సాధిస్తాడు. 

Focus clearly on what you love. Eventually, that itself will bring you everything you truly want — and more.

Make Films a Ritual

Make films like it’s a ritual. Not a chore. Not a checklist. A soulful practice you return to again and again — like a hobby, a therapy, a meditation. 

When you show up to cinema with reverence, it rewards you in ways nothing else can. 

Because filmmaking isn’t just a craft. It’s a universe.

It carries everything inside it — the name, the money, the contacts, the glitter, the fascination, the sex, the madness, and the soul. Cinema is chaos with a heartbeat.

And remember this: funders and producers aren’t a big problem if your commitment and conviction to making films is deadly serious. When you’re all in, the right people appear.

And here’s the beautiful truth:

When you commit to the ritual, the films themselves pull you forward. They bring the fame, the fortune, the friendships, the doors you didn’t even know existed. You don’t chase the world — the world starts chasing you.

So make films.

Make them with obsession.

Make them with love.

Make them until the ritual becomes your destiny.

The screen will take care of the rest.

ఏదో ఉత్సాహంతో నేర్చుకుంటారు, సర్టిఫికేట్ వచ్చేస్తుంది. కాని, ఆ సర్టిఫికేట్‌తో ఫిలిం ఛాన్స్ వస్తుందా? 

మళ్ళీ రొటీన్‌గా ఒక 5 నుంచి 10 ఏళ్ళు పడుతుంది. మీ కృషి ఫలించి మీకు ఛాన్స్ దొరకొచ్చు, దొరక్కపోవచ్చు. 

ఎన్నో లక్షలు, ఎంతో సమయం వృధా. 

నేను ఫిలిం కోచింగ్‌కు, ఫిలిం ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్స్‌కు వ్యతిరేకం కాదు. కాని, మారిన కండిషన్స్‌లో ఇప్పుడు మనం ఏదైనా ఫ్రీగా ఆన్‌లైన్లో నేర్చుకోవచ్చు. కాని, సినిమాల్లో అవకాశం సంపాదించుకోవడం మాత్రం అంత ఈజీ కాదు అని చెప్పడమే నా ఉద్దేశ్యం.

ఇప్పుడు రియాలిటీ కూడా అదే.

ఇది AI యుగం. డిజిటల్ యుగం. Gen-Z యుగం.  

రొటీన్ అన్న పదమే ఇప్పుడు అవుట్ డేటెడ్. 

ఫిలిం కోచింగ్స్, సర్టిఫికేట్స్, ట్రెడిషనల్ కాస్టింగ్ కాల్స్, ఆడిషన్స్... వీటితో పనులు కావు. 

ఇవన్నీ చీకట్లో బాణం వేయటం లాంటిది. తగిలితే అదృష్టం. తగలకపోయే చాన్సే ఎక్కువ.

జ్ఞానోదయం అనేది జీవితంలో ఎప్పుడో ఒక్కసారి మాత్రమే వచ్చేది. కాని, నాకు మాత్రం జీవితానికి సంబంధించిన అనేక విషయాల్లో, అనేక సందర్భాల్లో అనేకసార్లు అయ్యింది - జ్ఞానోదయం. 

అందుకే, "జ్ఞానోదయం అంటే నీకు కుక్కతోక వంకర లాంటిది" అని వెక్కిరిస్తారు నా ఫ్రెండ్స్ కొందరు.  

కట్ చేస్తే - 

క్రియేటివిటీకి సంబంధించిన నేపథ్యంలో, బయటివారికి అంత సులభంగా అర్థంకాని స్టకప్‌లతోనే సంవత్సరాలకి సంవత్సరాలు గడిచిపోతుంటాయి. అందరూ ఏదేదో వారికి తోచింది అంటుంటారు, ఇంటా బయటా. 

అన్నీ నవ్వుతూ భరిస్తూ, ఎదుర్కొంటూ, ఏం జరగనట్టే ఉండాలి.           

ఇలాంటి నేపథ్యంలో సాధ్యమైనంత మానసిక వత్తిడి తగ్గించుకోడం చాలా అవసరం. తప్పనిసరి కూడా.

చెప్పలేం, గాలిబుడగ ఏ క్షణమైనా టప్ మనొచ్చు. 

జీవితం చాలా చిన్నది. బరువులూ, బాధ్యతలూ, కమిట్మెంట్సూ... అన్నీ త్వరత్వరగా పూర్తిచేసుకోవడమొక్కటే లేజర్ ఫోకస్‌ కావాలి. 

బ్రతికున్న నాలుగురోజులూ జీవితాన్నీ, మనుషుల్నీ ప్రేమిద్దాం. ప్రేమగా ఉందాం.
